[name_m]How[/name_m] do YOU pronounce [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]?
I pronounce it [name_u]Chris[/name_u]-zee-da. I know thats probably not right but thats how I read it.
Cress-IH-dah (middle syllable is a short i sound)
CRESS-ih-duh (emphasis on the first syllable)
It’s pronounced CRESS-id-ah, occasionally creh-[name_m]SID[/name_m]-ah. They’re very similar sounding though.
I really hope it becomes more popular with [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] Bonas in the public eye, at least in the UK. I think it’s really beautiful, with a similar down to earth feeling as [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] which are already used frequently in [name_m]Britain[/name_m]. Plus, it’s Shakespearean.
I say it this way as well.
Cress-[name_m]Sid[/name_m]-A. It’s my daughter’s name and that’s how we’ve always said it…
I used to say Creh-SEE-dah, but find myself saying CRESS-eh-dah these days.
Yerp, this way.
cress-IH-duh
I think it’s a pretty name
Cress-id-ah
CRESS-id-uh id is like in [name_m]Sid[/name_m]. It’s a cute name btw!
Kind of like how it looks. Cress (like the beginning of [name_f]Crescent[/name_f]) the i making the kind of sound in ill and da like “duh”.
CRESS-id-uh. It’s a pretty name.
CRESS-ih-duh
CRESS-ih-duh
I love this name.
This pronunciation says it all.
Kre-see-dah is how I would pronounce the name.
I would have never guessed it had a short “i” in it (which for me makes the name less appealing).
I say it this way too. Beautiful name!
