I was just wondering how you would pronounce the name Eisa, I read online that it’s a Swedish short form for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I say it AY-sah, but I’m not quite sure if that is the correct way of saying it… [name_m]How[/name_m] would you say it?
I would have said “eye-suh” although when I first read it, I thought it was [name_f]Elsa[/name_f].
Judging by the name [name_f]Eira[/name_f], which is pronounced ‘AY-ra’ in Swedish, then I imagine Eisa would be ‘AY-sa’ like you guessed
I’m Swedish and I would pronounce Eisa as “AY-sah” and [name_f]Eira[/name_f] as “AY-rah”.
I’d say AY-suh, because of [name_f]Eira[/name_f] (AY-ruh), which I love!
Ice-uh is how I would pronounce it. When people say -ah I feel like they could mean -ah like -aw or like -uh haha! Hard to understand pronunciation just reading it:)
Also Ay- could be read “aye” like day or “eye”!
Thank you all So glad it’s pronounced how I thought, that way I don’t have to get used to saying it any different
I’ve never heard it before, so it can’t be that common:) I’d say it something like EY-sah with stress on the first syllable. It’s cute.
[name_f]My[/name_f] immediate thought would be EJ-sah/EY-sah. It’s lovely.
