Is there one that is the “right” way or can any work?
Is there one that is the “right” way or can any work?
I say [name_f]Em[/name_f]-eh-line, but I think any of these work. Use whichever comes most naturally to you.
i say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Leen[/name_f] instinctively. If it makes any difference, I’m from the UK
Same as [name_f]Margot[/name_f] above, I automatically say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen and am in the UK. Like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] Pankhurst.
I’m another British berry, and I say it like [name_f]Em[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I think -leen is the most common/intuitive pronunciation here.
It seems like most Americans say emma-line and British say emma-leen.
I’m neither and I say emma-leen.
Emma-line is my go to pronunciation but [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen doesn’t surprise me either
I go with [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen, but I actually pronounce it more like EmmEL-leen, or in other words like [name_f]Em[/name_f]-eh-leen, the way you would pronounce EL sound in other names with such syllable.
