I say JOR-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na, but I know jor-[name_u]JAY[/name_u]-na is a very commonly used prn. in the UK.

I say Jor-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nuh, and apart from the Duchess, I haven’t heard it instinctively said as Jor-[name_u]JAY[/name_u]-nuh here (e.g. when we read Pride and Prejudice in school, everyone said the former). I know it’s a pronunciation that (sadly in my opinion, I really dislike it) exists, but I don’t think it’s as common or instinctive to Brits as it seems to come across.

I say jor-[name_u]JAY[/name_u]-nuh, but people will say to me 'don’t you mean [name_m]George[/name_m]-ee-ah-nuh.

I pronounce it as jor-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nah - I’m only aware of the jor-[name_u]JAY[/name_u]-nah pronunciation in The Duchess.

jor-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nah for me.

JOR-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na, never heard it any way else.

Thank you @maggiemary! That’s the movie I got my pronunciation from, I couldn’t remember what it was called x

I pronounce it jor-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nah and I’m British. I wouldn’t say jor-[name_u]JAY[/name_u]-na is instinctive here, either.

Jor-jee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nah is the way I say it and the only way I have ever heard it. I adore the name!

I’ve met both people with both the Jor-jay-nah and Jor-jee-ah-nah pronunciations but I usually assume the second version, as it seems more popular nowadays. (I’m in [name_m]Britain[/name_m] if it makes any difference.) I think both are really pretty!

I say something between [name_m]George[/name_m]-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na and [name_m]George[/name_m]-ee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na, usually 3.5 syllables, sometimes 3 others 4 depending on the day.
