How do you pronounce Leta?

Is it [name]Lee[/name]-ta or le-ta? Or something else??

this is my pen name when I write poetry. I have always pronounced it lee-ta

I would’ve said Let-ah looking at it.

I would say [name]Lee[/name]-tah.

So glad you made a post about this name. I was looking for an alternative to [name]Lolita[/name], which I can’t use due to the associations and meaning, but [name]Leta[/name] is a great option. I’d pronounce it [name]Lee[/name]-tah. Pretty!

My mind pronounces it [name]Lee[/name]-tah upon reading.

I pronounce it [name]Lee[/name]-tuh. I have a friend named [name]Lita[/name], which she pronounces [name]Lee[/name]-tuh. To me they’re both the same because that’s the only way I’ve ever heard either pronounced.

I pronounce [name]Leta[/name] as lee-tah.

[name]Lee[/name]-tah, but it comes out more like LEED-uh, with a schwa for the a. Lazy American accent.

A couple at my church just named their baby girl this. I thought it was pretty… lovely meaning… but I was unsure of how you pronounce it,… I am assuming it is [name]Lee[/name]-tuh…

Yep, i’d say [name]Lee[/name]-ta. I really like and its going on my list!

I would say [name]Le[/name]-tuh but that’s just my love for Russian accent. I think [name]Leta[/name](mother of [name]Helen[/name] of [name]Troy[/name] in myths) is lee-tub and Leto(mother of [name]Apollo[/name]) is la-to.

In my head it sounds better with short e [[name_m]Le[/name_m]-ta] I was so disappointed that everyone pronounces it lee-ta :(((

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys have suggestions how to write name sounding [le-ta] with a short e ?

I’ve only heard [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-ta

[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-duh. I’m American so pronouncing with a hard t sound is stilted to me.

I pronounce it lee-ta but in my accent the t becomes a d sound. lovely name

I pronounce it [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-ta.
