So I’ve just only discovered the name [name]Lyra[/name] and I’m curious as to just how exactly its pronounced? Is it leer-a or lye-ra? I personally like leer-a a little more, but both ways are very pretty.
I personally pronounce it as -lye rah. I like that way more but both ways are pretty.
I would say lee-rah
I have always pronounced it lie-rah.
I would say lie-rah too, though I think [name]Lee[/name]-ra sounds better.
It’s supposed to be pronounced lye-rah (similar to the instrument).
I’ve always said [name]Lyra[/name]. I like it better that way too.
Lie-ra. It is a character from the book The [name]Golden[/name] Compass.

I pronounce it the same as a lot of the other poster, lie-rah.
[name]Lyra[/name] the constellation was named for the instrument – [name]Lyre[/name]. Thus, the name [name]Lyra[/name] is pronounced lie-ruh.

I actually am surprised this isn’t more well-known thanks to the books series, Northern Lights (the film as called The [name]Golden[/name] Compass, I think).
In the book/films it’s pronounced Lye-rah. It’s very pretty.
I also know a girl named Lyria, which I love. It’s pronounced LIH-ree-ah, though.
I say lie-rah
