How do you pronounce Mila

Well, Englishmen and American tend to pronounce foreign names wrong… like [name]Circe[/name].

I am not Polish, but I am Slavic, and [name]Mila[/name] is word name in my country, so I know how to pronounce it. [name]May[/name] be different in Poland, thou.

It’s pronounced Meeluh. Were Americans and Englishmen right?

mee-la. My best friend growing up’s grandmother was named [name]Milagros[/name] but she went by [name]Mila[/name], and this was how I was taught to say it.

I am in Australia and overall I think most pronounce it Mee-la. With a short, hard “a” sound. I have heard people pronounce it Mill-[name]Ah[/name]. With the mill rhyming with pill. But I prefer Mee-la.

I have heard it pronounced Mile-ah.

I [name]LOVE[/name] this name. I used to prn it My-la but then I found the real pronnonciation. I do prefer it that way but I would have said My-la at first sight.

I have a daughter [name]Mila[/name]. We pronounce it MEE-la.

It’s lovely, isn’t it?

I would say mil-uh, as the only girl with that name I have come across said it that way.

I read it in a book and thought it was the feminine form of [name]Milo[/name], so I pronounced it My-luh. Of course, I was completely off base, but I do prefer the My-luh pronunciation. The two pronunciations give different images to me.

In [name]America[/name], actress [name]Mila[/name] Kunis has assured the pronunciation mee-luh on a first glance.

Polish would be mee-la as well. I’ve never heard it mill-a or my-la.

I’ve only heard it pronounced MEE-la

Mee-la. My lah is spelled [name]Myla[/name].

Yes. Mee-la.

Meela -for me it’s obvious cause i can’t understand mile-a. I think it’s most beautiful when pronounced correctly that is meela.

MEE-la.

MY-la would be [name]Myla[/name].

MEE-la. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

I’ve always thought MEE-la when I read it, but it is nice to know for sure. It is such a beautiful name.

I would say My-la at first glance.

I used to pronounce in Mill-ah (kind of like the beginning of [name]Millie[/name]), then I found out its actual pronunciation Mee-la. I like My-la too! However I prefer the way I used to say it
