Well I can think of one member here who is most qualified to answer! lol.
Personally I had never heard the name before I saw it on a user here, but I liked it and read that it is the feminine form of [name]Otto[/name] - so I assumed it would be pronounced in the same way - which to me would be Ot - ill-ee. I could be wrong though.
I only know then French version which is “oh tee lee” until I came on NB I never knew people said it any other way, but the [name]German[/name] prn is more like “oh teel yah” (not sure how to write that) @Dantea has a family member named [name]Ottilie[/name] so she could probably give you another good perspective.
Seriously! This thread has me doubting after weeks of reading [name]Ottilie[/name]'s threads and just knowing in my head that this is how it’s said. Which is funny, because I’ve never met one or even seen one on television!
Oh man, it’s a good thing I don’t have to say your name [name]IRL[/name]. It’s gorgeous the way you say it, of course. But I’m lazy and my way’s easier! Now I’m going to have a blip of anxiety every time I read your username while my brain argues with itself about pronunciation. Great!
