Hello Berries!
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u], [name_m]Zephir[/name_m] and Zéphyr?
(I want it to be pronounced [name_m]Zayfeer[/name_m] but I think nobody is going to say it like this).
Thank you!
Thank you!
Its Zef-er
This is how I prn it too.
I’m dittoing the first two replies.
it’s Zef-er
I’ve always heard it as Zef-fire, but I have no idea if that is correct or not.
Thanks!
“[name_m]Zayfeer[/name_m]” is the [name_m]French[/name_m] prononciation and I prefer.
I’d pronounce them all how you said, but I have an English accent and know from previous pronunciation misunderstandings with my own name choices that I say things very differently to those in the US on here!
On Babar, the monkey’s name is [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] and they pronounce it like Zuh-Fear, so that’s how I would. I’ve also heard Zef-fire.
I know a little boy called [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u], like the wind god, and his name is pronounced ZEPH-er.
I would say Zéphyr as zay-PHIR / zay-FEAR, and [name_m]Zephir[/name_m] as Ze-PHIR / Ze-FEAR though.
I also pronounce it ZEPH-er but I think if you really love your pronunciation you can say it the way you like, just be prepared to deal with a lot of correcting lol. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name btw.
Wow, I’ve been pronouncing it wrong all these years… damn it. ZEPH-yer
zee-feer or zeph-feer in English.
Zeh-feer in [name_m]German[/name_m] (long e but definitely not an aye sound).
I’ve always heard the first and last as Zeh-fire, but I think the middle one is Zeh-feer?
[name_m]ZEFF[/name_m]-er is how I pronounce it.
Zéphyr would be zay-FEER in [name_m]French[/name_m]… But the accent mark is only really effective if you live somewhere [name_m]French[/name_m] is understood.
Thank you!
We are going to keep Zéphyr with this spelling and pronounced Zeph-eer.
What? Why? Why have an accent there when it doesn’t affect the pronunciation?
Because I’m [name_m]French[/name_m] and we are going to move to [name_f]France[/name_f] next year and live over there for 3 or 4 years (and we don’t know if we are going to stay all our life in [name_u]America[/name_u]).
I’ve sent you a PM, OP.
[name_m]Zeff[/name_m]-er is how I’ve only ever heard it pronounced.
