[name]Hi[/name] berries! So, I have heard two different ways to pronounce [name]Isla[/name] and I am curious as to how it is supposed to be pronounced?

I pronounce it eyes-lah, but I’ve heard it pronounced eye-lah before. I’m British if that is of any relevance.

Thanks aj_bear and cassandrah! I had been pronouncing it as eye-lah in my mind like island or isle, but just wanted to make certain that I wasn’t totally off base.
I’m almost positive that the ‘s’ in [name]Isla[/name] is silent.
It’s a Scottish name pronounced ‘eye-la’. 
Eye-la It was one of the names we had if Everett had been a girl.
It’s like the beginning of the word “island”. You don’t say the “s”. My cousin’s name is [name]Isla[/name] and I also went to college with a girl named [name]Isla[/name] - they both pronounce it the same way.
I agree with pretty much everyone else. The “s” is silent, like aisle or island. EYE-luh.
