Thanks so much, everyone!

Our older children have names with relatively straight forward pronunciations ([name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], and [name_m]Augustin[/name_m]). The list for this baby has several names that are uncommon/have more than one pronunciation. I just wanted a sense as to which names might cause her the most grief down the road in terms of familiarity among the masses.

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]–[name_f]Bee[/name_f]-uh-triss

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]–Imm-uh-jin

[name_f]Imogene[/name_f]-Imm-oh-gene

[name_f]Briony[/name_f]-Bry-oh-nee (Bry rhymes with cry)

[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]–[name_f]Em[/name_f]-uh-line

[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]–[name_u]Jess[/name_u]-uh-minn

From the Northeast.

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - “bee-uh-triss”
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - “eye-mo-gin”
[name_f]Imogene[/name_f] - “eye-mo-jeen”
[name_f]Briony[/name_f] - “bri-on-ee”
[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] - “emma-line” although [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is “emme-leen”
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] - “jessa-meen”

I’m in the south.

No idea if these are correct, just how I would say them at first glance.

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - [name_f]BEE[/name_f]-uh-triss
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - The first time I ever saw this name, I thought it was the same as [name_f]Imogene[/name_f], but I’ve since learned it’s IM-o-jin.
[name_f]Imogene[/name_f] - IM-o-jean. This names sounds so much more complete to me, [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] sounds clipped and harsh
[name_f]Briony[/name_f] - [name_f]BREE[/name_f]-o-knee. No idea if that’s right :stuck_out_tongue:
[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] - [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line (line as in a straight _____) Though I know people also say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen and [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-lynn. I’ve known of actual person who pronounces it one [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line.
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] - [name_f]Jessa[/name_f]-mean

When I read those, this is how I “hear” them. I hope this helps!

[name_f]Bee[/name_f]-ah-triss
Ih-mo-gen
Ai-mo-jeen?
Brai-o-nee
[name_f]Em[/name_f]-ah-lynn
Jezz-ah-meen

Oh boy, here goes nothing. These are very pretty yet uncommon names in South [name_u]Texas[/name_u], I hope not to butcher them!

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] – [name_f]Bee[/name_f]-uh-tris

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - [name_f]Em[/name_f]-uh-gen

[name_f]Imogene[/name_f] - [name_f]Em[/name_f]-uh-jean

[name_f]Briony[/name_f] - [name_f]Bree[/name_f]-uh-nie

[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] – [name_f]Em[/name_f]-uh-line

[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] - Jes-uh-meen

Not sure why I want to make [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] so different. Maybe it’s because of the urge to say [name_f]Emily[/name_f] instead?

I’m in Australia.
