My nan says it like it rhymes with [name]Amelia[/name], but I kind of don’t believe her because of the double L.
ETA: Oh, and obviously it’s my latest name crush, even though I can’t say it.

I pronounce it “kah-MEEL-yuh” but some people pronounce it “kah-[name]MELL[/name]-yuh”.
kuh-MEEL-ee-uh?
I was brought up saying kah-MEEL-yuh in the US. I am pretty sure I’ve heard kah-meel-ee-uh in Australia. But I don’t trust them, they say [name]Dahlia[/name] with 3 syllables.
I say [name]Dahlia[/name] with 3 syllables. [name]TRUST[/name] NO [name]ONE[/name]! [name]Dal[/name]-yuh is way too much effort. I just say DAH-lee-ah or day-lee-ah.
Maybe my nan was right after all lol. That’ll teach me to doubt a gardening fanatic. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Melia[/name] works as a nn?
I’ve never met anyone with this name, but I pronounce it kah-MEE-lee-ah.
I’ve often thought of it as [name]Amelia[/name] with a K sound. [name]Ca[/name]-MEE-lee-uh. and fwiw I say Dah-li-a!
[name]Ca[/name]-meel-yuh, like the flower. But I wouldn’t be surprised if people said [name]Ca[/name]-mell-ee-uh because of the double L.
Hold on, just found this via Google.

Now the pronunciation makes more sense even with the double L.
Yep, me too, on all counts (I’m Australian, by the way).
[name]Camellia[/name] rhymes with [name]Amelia[/name], and I love it. (And [name]Dahlia[/name] can be DAHL-ya or DAH-lee-uh, round these parts. Never [name]DOLL[/name]-yuh, though.)
My landlady’s name is [name]Camellia[/name] She pronounces it like [name]Amelia[/name], with a K.
Maybe I’m an odd one out, but I pronounce it as ca-mel-ee-yah (‘mel’ as in the first syllable in [name]Melanie[/name])
