I know two little ones - [name_f]Talya[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] - and they are said tall-yah. I fear that it would be pronounced ta-lee-yah (rhyming with [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f]). I love the first pronunciation but dislike the second. I’m revamping my list and trying to see where [name_f]Talia[/name_f] fits, so let me know how you say it! Thanks!
I know one girl with this name and I call her “[name_u]Tal[/name_u]-ee-uh.” I’ve heard her sister call her “[name_u]Tal[/name_u]-yuh.” I guess she likes both? I’ve never been corrected by her.
I would say TALL-ee-ah. If you want it to be pronounced tall-yuh I would use the [name_f]Talya[/name_f] spelling. It also probably depends on where you are, how people will pronounce it. It sounds like the people you know in your area pronounce it the way you like, then you are probably ok.
I was going to be [name_f]Talia[/name_f] (Ta-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-A) and I went to school with an [name_f]Atalia[/name_f] (At-Ta-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-A) but everyone always pronouced it like A-Tar-[name_f]Lea[/name_f]
I would say it tall-ee-uh, but that’s just because I prefer that pronunciation over the other. The only time I’ve heard [name_f]Talya[/name_f], it was said tal-yuh (with a short A as in cat, not like in tall or ball).
