How would you specify that you like Bailey for a boy or Atticus for a girl?
I guess I’m asking how you would specify the sex assigned at birth / gender representation you like a name on best. I’ll get to the poll before I confuse us more.
How would you specify the preferred gender/sex of a name?
🩷 and
and
(F) and (M)
(Fem) and (Masc)
Something “silly” ( and ; and …)

Yes, gender can change, and I like the term enby a lot. This is mostly for future polls
I would say [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] (b) and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] (g)
different than (f) and (m) imo, since I feel like the connotation of boy/girl has to do with gender while male/female has to do with sex. ive also been known to use fem and masc but more often than not, I would stick with (b) and (g).
in cases when gender is irrelevant, I’ll usually just specify that the name is for any gender
I voted (f) and (m) because I think the single letter is easiest and clearest but prefer (g) and (b) with (u) for unisex/neutral. I also think the pink and blue hearts is cute.
@SparkleNinja18 i definitely should have included this option! For some reason I feel the same about female and male, but I think of masculine and femininethe way you do boy and girl,( if that makes any sense at all ).You explained your view so well I’m starting to think that the most straight forward too!
However, (niche example) if I was putting my kids’ names in a social media bio or something along the lines, I’d use the coloured hearts! Stereotypical, but gets the message across.
