How does the sibset/twinset of Edison and Elora strike you?

It’s possible may have twins when I fall pregnant via IVF. So I have been seriously considering twin names rather than just single names in the lead up to the procedure.

I am pretty much in love with this twinset:

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_m]Edison[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]

Now I know it looks matchy but it wasn’t actually intentional. I just seem to love many “E” names and that can’t be helped lol. I think [name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_m]Edison[/name_m] are my two top favourite names. I think they are different enough despite both starting with E, but you may have a different opinion…?

The matching “J” middle names are also co-incidental. I want to honour both of my parents, [name_u]Joan[/name_u] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] and [name_u]Kerry[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. I really don’t like “[name_u]Joan[/name_u]” (neither does my mum lol) but my mum and I both like the near cousin name, [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. And [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds so pretty - I like that the more fanciful and unusual [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is matched with long-historied and classic [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. And I’m not in love with the name [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] really, but it’s a better name for a boy these days than [name_u]Kerry[/name_u]. In my father’s day, [name_u]Kerry[/name_u] used to be a solid Irish boy’s name but was ultra-feminised since the 1970’s and 1980’s. I’ve only ever met female Kerrys in my lifetime except for my dad.

But since choosing these two combos, I must say I am a little charmed by their slight matchiness. If they happen to be twins I think you can get away with that lol

Plus, isn’t this a sweet set of nicknames that would be cool as the kids get older - “[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_u]Jay[/name_u]” and “[name_m]Eddie[/name_m]-[name_u]Jo[/name_u]” hehehe

I love this. [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is such a beautiful poetic name and [name_m]Edison[/name_m] is one of my favorites. It’s so sweet and strong at the same time. I don’t they are too matcha at all, just the right amount. Great choices. Good luck with IVF!

I like it. They seem cohesive, but are still very different names.

Although both names begin with the same letter, they really don’t strike me as overly matchy. Good luck!
