[name_m]How[/name_m] important are initials? Our last name begins with P, and we’ve been considering the first name [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]. This makes his initials PP. Is this a big deal? [name_m]Will[/name_m] kids really make fun of him?
I used to go to school with three kids whose initials were P.P. No one ever made a deal about their initials. I think your son will be fine.
I think unless it spells something awful, offensive or embarrassing, you are more than okay. P.P is not these things, if anything it will illicit a tiny giggle then be forgotten.
P.P are not terrible initials. Kids are a lot more self-centered than we realize, so they are much too caught up with their own world and self-development, that most won’t even realize their peer’s initials until well past the playground bullying stage.
Well, it’s worth mentioning that a middle name would add a letter to his initials. If anyone teases him, which I doubt, he can easily say, “No, they’re P.D.P.” or whatever the case may be.
