How is Severine pronounced?

Anyone her from [name]France[/name] or who speaks French who can elaborate on pronunciation?

I’m not French, but I take French in school… is it supposed to have accent marks anywhere? I would pronounce it seh-veh-REEN.

I wouldn’t say I was fluent but I would pronounce it Sehvr-REEN if that makes sense… I was also wondering, are there any accents?

I may be wrong though as I’m not french:)

I believe its [name]Say[/name]-vuh-reen.

This name was on [name]Pam[/name] and [name]Linda[/name]'s list for girl names from around the world. It didn’t have any marks on their list so I am not sure. It just caught my eye and I wanted to know the proper pronunciation. Thanks for your attempts, everyone!

My boss’s name is [name]Severine[/name]…she pronounces it with two syllables. Suh-vreen (Sehv-reen)…I can’t write phonetics out. But she’s from [name]France[/name], so she’s not just American with a French name.

I may have to use it myself. I [name]LOVE[/name] the name!

I’m American, but I always thought it was pronounced sev-UHR-een.

[name]Hi[/name],
I am french and S”verine (with accent) is prononced in 2 syllabels:
se-vrin.
In [name]France[/name], in the early 70ies, it was a hugely popular name.
[name]Hope[/name] this helps!

They use it in Skyfall, and its pronounced Sev-reen. Such a beautiful name!

i’ve seen it both ways- severine and séverine. the first is close to seh-vreen, the second is say-vreen. the second “e” is hardly pronounced, kind of how you would pronounce emmeline.
