How many Asher have you meet?

I love the name [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and I am just curious, how many Ashers have you meet?
I live in [name_u]California[/name_u] and I have never meet one.

I live in the Midwest. I only know one, my doctor’s son. He was born a few months before my daughter, so he’s probably not quite two years old.

  1. I do know an [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] though.

I know one, he was in my grade at school, so he’s 18 like me.

I just know it from a tv show. I much prefer Ashford, though.

zero. Never met one, haven’t even heard of a friend of a friend knowing one.

I know quite a few but I live in Los [name_f]Angeles[/name_f] and it’s quite a bit popular among the Jewish community.

A handful from of all ages from baby to ultra-ancient, plus relatives who are dead now, but I’m an [name_f]East[/name_f] Coast Jew, so yeah.

All the middle-aged or older ones I know of are Jewish.

I want to say that while it’s well-known, it’s less extremely popular currently amongst Jews than [name_u]Ari[/name_u]/[name_u]Avi[/name_u]? Does that sound right to anybody else?

I’ve never met an [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and I’m happy about that. I think it’s an odd name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] makes me think of cremation (horrible thought).

I know an [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] though.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Asher[/name_m]! I used to go to school with an [name_u]Ashton[/name_u], in middle school, and I remember coming across a baby [name_m]Asher[/name_m] with his mom at the lady doctor, but that was probably close to three years ago, if not more like 5. I hear that it’s frequently used, but I haven’t heard it that often at all. Then again, I’m on the opposite side of the country from you…

1 as a first name & 1 as a middle.
love it so much!

None but I have met an [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] and I can think of two famous teenaged [name_u]Ashton[/name_u]'s.

I know two Ashers, both under 2. [name_f]One[/name_f] is in my family, and the other is a friend of the family.

From what I’ve heard from the [name_m]Asher[/name_m] moms, they’re seeing the name a lot lately. As far as I know, neither regret using it.

[name_f]One[/name_f], but he’s fifteen or sixteen.

I know quite a few. My husband works with one (he is probably in his late thirties), I went to college with two (they’ll be in their mid/late twenties to mid thirties now), and we have two in my sons’ playgroup (one is 7 or 8 and the other is 2)

I have a son named [name_m]Asher[/name_m]. I have only met 2 others in his whole life, he is 8.

Thank you everybody! It seems that people either know one or two [name_m]Asher[/name_m]'s or quite a few.

[name_m]Zero[/name_m], to be exact. I agree with a pp that it has previously only been a popular Jewish name, and has only recently started to cross into the mainstream.

I’ve never met one but have met an [name_m]Archer[/name_m].

I haven’t met any Ashers yet. I’m in the Midwest, though.
