My SO and I have officially decided to name the boys [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m]!!
But I do have that voice in my head warning me…
Since I got such positive feedback and encouragement to move forward with [name_m]Levi[/name_m]…I fear it may be too popular.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_m]Caden[/name_m] are fairly popular names, which I don’t care for, but we’ve gotten really lucky and haven’t run into any of them. Maybe 1 [name_f]Emma[/name_f].
I know [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] is common-ish but nothing like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_m]Caden[/name_m](since it’s in the -aden trend, sigh) so I’m not worried about running into other [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]'s.
I have yet to meet a [name_m]Levi[/name_m] (that I can recall anyway) and I’m just wondering if the name is just popular on here or if it’s actually being used this much? Have you met a ton of [name_m]Levi[/name_m]'s? If I want to avoid a super popular name or a name that is getting super popular, should I stay away?
Yes. [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] is #41 on the SSA list, [name_m]Levi[/name_m] is #55. [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] has been above [name_m]Levi[/name_m] on the list (hence more popular) every year since 1995.
That’s a list of the most popular names on Nameberry. It doesn’t necessarily reflect naming trends in the general population. For that you want Popular Baby Names.
Well, I did a little further research on the SSA list for you. The name [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] was given to about 7600 boys that year, which SOUNDS like a lot, but when you consider there were about a million total boys born, it doesn’t seem nearly as popular. It’s really all up to you, but I don’t think either [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] or [name_m]Levi[/name_m] are close to as popular as [name_f]Emma[/name_f] was.
I know 0 [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]'s and two [name_m]Levi[/name_m]'s. One in his late 20’s and one who is 18 months. [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m] sound so great together
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry too much about Nameberry’s list. I’ve chosen the name [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] for a girl, and it ranked #1 on Nameberry’s list this year and only 1816 on the SS list with only 111 occurrences in the US in 2012.
