How popular are the Ada-, Ade- names going to be?

We are due in a few months with our third. This one will be named after someone in dh’s family. We are fairly certain we will either use [name]Layne[/name] (the way the family spells it, although I do like [name]Laine[/name] better and may change his mind  ) and/or [name]June[/name]. A few months ago I was leaning toward [name]Adelaine[/name] [name]June[/name] (nn. [name]Lainey[/name] [name]June[/name]), but it seems like everywhere I look there is another [name]Ade[/name]/[name]Ada[/name] name popping up. [name]How[/name] popular are they going to be? I was a [name]Jen[/name] in the [name]Jennifer[/name] era and don’t want my daughter to be one of many (although we would use the nn [name]Laine[/name]/[name]Layne[/name] and not [name]Addy[/name]).
To make it even harder, dh’s mom sent me the list of names as far back as she knew. The great grandma was [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Layne[/name], which makes me really want to use [name]Adelaine[/name]/Adelayne…

Other names in the running
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]June[/name] (nn [name]Eliza[/name] - dh isn’t keen on [name]Eliza[/name] as the legal name but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eliza[/name])
[name]Layne[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Layne[/name]

help please

I can see [name]Ad[/name]- names moving up, but nowhere near [name]Jennifer[/name] territory (or -[name]Bella[/name] territory, or even [name]Ell[/name]- territory)

I love [name]Adelaide[/name], its gotten some increased use with the old lady names, but I dont see it in the top 100 anytime soon. [name]Ada[/name]…I think it gets suggested on here frequently as an alternative to super popular [name]Ava[/name], but remains far less popular. [name]Every[/name] little [name]Addy[/name] I know is an [name]Addison[/name].

[name]Adelaine[/name] [name]June[/name] is darling, and nn [name]Lainey[/name] is quite pretty and would set her apart if she did end up in class with an [name]Addison[/name]/[name]Addy[/name]…
I prefer the [name]Laine[/name] spelling to [name]Layne[/name] by far.
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]June[/name] is nice, but it seems like [name]Adelaine[/name] [name]June[/name] has more meaning for you and feels a little more “special” to me. In my opinion, [name]Elizabeth[/name] will never be seen as trendy or overplayed, but it’s not going anywhere as a very popular name anytime soon! With all the other [name]El[/name]- variants popping up (I know many more little Ellies than Addys! Ellas, Elles, Eloises, Ellianas, etc…) I think theres more [name]Jen[/name]-phobia risk there.

I really like [name]Adelaine[/name] [name]June[/name]! Very cute, and like that you can do the [name]Laine[/name] or [name]Lainey[/name] nn instead of [name]Addy[/name]. I actually prefer [name]Elizabeth[/name], nn [name]Eliza[/name], to [name]Adelaine[/name], but if [name]Adelaine[/name] has more meaning to you, you should do it.

My little girl to be born in [name]October[/name] is most likely going to be [name]Ad[/name]élie… its my husbands favorite name. I on the other hand can’t make up my mind to save my life! It’s nowhere near popular, not even top 1000. I love the name, and NM [name]Leelee[/name]

Thanks ladies! I’m still torn, as I love [name]Elizabeth[/name] and it’s been on our short list for all three pg. I’m excited that [name]Adelaine[/name] might work  !!!

I’ve seen quite a bit of modern inventions like [name]Adalyn[/name] and [name]Adelyn[/name] on other websites so I think they will rise in popularity. Everyone seems to love adding “lyn” and “leigh” to names for no apparent reason. However, I think you’ll be safe with [name]Adelaine[/name] [name]June[/name] nn [name]Laine[/name].

I like [name]Adelaine[/name] [name]June[/name] and [name]Lainey[/name] is a cute nickname. I think popularity is a hard thing to predict, so you shouldn’t base your name choice off of what potentially might be popular. That being said, I’d never even heard the name [name]Adelaine[/name] before this post so I don’t think you’re in danger of it becoming popular any time soon.
