U.S. data… Jane - Popularity of Jane, How Popular Is the name Jane?
#340 in 2012, 922 girls which is about 1/2170 girls
Simple answer: not as popular as you would think.
In the United States? [name]Jane[/name] was given to 922 babies in 2012 and ranked at 340 in the top 1000 baby names. Take 922, divide it by 50 and your left with (rounding up) 19 baby [name]Jane[/name]'s per state. Then factor in counties, cities, towns, etc… Of course it could be skewed higher in certain states so check out how many [name]Jane[/name]'s were born in yours for better accuracy.

I love [name]Jane[/name]! It’s a beautiful and simple classic. I’ve only known a few [name]Jane[/name]'s in my life, two around my age (ca. 30) and one my mom’s, but I think it’s workable for any age.
I had a young (19?) [name]Jane[/name] in one of my classes. I think it is actually more useable than ever.
I know one [name]Jane[/name] my age (late 30s) and one [name]Jane[/name] in her late 60s who goes by [name]Janey[/name].
Not super popular! I think [name]Jane[/name] works well for any age, such and a pretty and classic name.
[name]Jane[/name] is on my short list, especially for a mn. I think it’s wonderful classic. It reminds me of a my favorite story: [name]Jane[/name] [name]Eyre[/name].
