I totally agree. Since she would have a different full name it puts her apart from “all” the others (if there even are any). I know 1 [name]Lily[/name] (in the Eastern US) and she’s about 2, I think. [name]Lily[/name] is one of my favorites and I think I would use it even if it seemed popular. And [name]Lilla[/name], nn [name]Lily[/name] … wow. [name]Just[/name] stunning. I say go for it.
Go for it! I only know one [name]Lilliana[/name] nn [name]Lillie[/name] who’s under 5, and another [name]Lillian[/name] in her 80s.
And at any rate, I think having a beautiful name like [name]Lilla[/name]/ [name]Lily[/name] would completely outweigh being one of several Lilys- if she even does run into that. [name]Sarah[/name] and [name]Emily[/name] were both really popular names when I was little- definitely several in each class- and at least three of them have told me they love their names so much they don’t care that they know other people with the same name. And if I’d ever run into another little [name]Ellen[/name] growing up, I don’t think I’d like my name any less. Go with the name you love
What great responses! Thank you to all of you. I guess I had the number #1 name growing up ([name]Emily[/name]) and it never bothered me, so I shouldn’t think so much on it. I really, really do love [name]Lily[/name], and haven’t grown tired of it even though I hear it fairly often. Hopefully I get my [name]Lilla[/name]. Thanks again!!
I hear it a lot but I still think it is a pretty name.
I think that if both your husband and you love it that you should use it! I live in [name]Ontario[/name],[name]Canada[/name] and I have never met anyone with the name [name]Lily[/name], to be fair I don’t work at a kids store or school, but out of people I know & people I know who have had kid’s no one has used the name [name]Lilly[/name]. I think it’s also a good idea to look for top names where you live not just in the united states in general might help you to find out if it’s popular in your area or not.
I know four teenage [name]Lily[/name]'s: [name]Lili[/name], [name]Lillie[/name], [name]Lilly[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name] nicknamed [name]Lilly[/name]. And one 4 year old.
there are a handful in my daughter’s school, but it is not like everywhere i turn i hear the name. i think it is fairly popular but today’s popular is not like jennifer or any of the top 10 names form decades ago. the use of names is more spread out these days
to add to what i said, i wouldn’t worry about popularity too much if you love the name - unless popularity is really something you can’t stand, i think it is an overrated concern fro a name you love
I know a 7 year old named [name]Liliana[/name] that goes by [name]Lily[/name] and a 3 year old named [name]Lillian[/name] that goes by [name]Lilly[/name].
I know about 5 or 6 [name]Lily[/name]'s under the age of 6 but I agree with so many of the others, if you love it, use it. I think [name]Lily[/name] is a very beautiful name, I don’t get tired of meeting them myself!
Another variant is [name]Lilith[/name] - which I adore.
