I know [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is extremely popular right now, but most Charlottes go by their full name or [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. Would a charlotte who goes by [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] really be sharing her name? I love [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]) but none of the other names I like are that popular, and I want my kid to have a name he or she doesn’t share. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know any Lotties?
You can not guarantee your child not sharing their name with another person. My son’s name, since 1900, has only been in the top 100 a few years. Around 1900-1950 stayed between 500-near 1,000. Since 1950, besides the few years in the top 100, around 200-500. There have been at least one other boy on our street with his name, except where we currently live. He had one on his baseball team years back. And we have met/heard the name called of handfuls of others.
The most important thing about naming is going with names that you feel an extra attachment to. That you cannot imagine not using.
I don’t know any [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]'s, but know about 5ish [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s none of who go by [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] is adorable, but personally I would only use her as a nickname.
I’ve never met one.
I know a plethora of Charlottes, but have never encountered a [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] before. I think it’s very sweet!
I know several Lotties, but I’d say it’s the standard nn for young Charlottes here in the UK and is also moderately popular as a standalone (we do love our nickname names!)
I think it’s a lovely name - great choice
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] matches the nicknames of girls in my signature…
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_f]Indie[/name_f], [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
But does [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] seem too plain next to [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]India[/name_f], and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
I work in a very child friendly profession in southeastern United States and have yet to meet a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I went to grade school with a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], she’s probably 24-years-old now. [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] is so sweet and great!
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] is a guilty pleasure of mine! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
I know a wonderful [name_f]Lotte[/name_f] (this spelling) whose full name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but she never uses it.
I know a toddler [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] whose full name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Her family is from the UK.
