Of course I, like many other name nerds, have been scouring the new SSA list. But then I went on here http://howmanyofme.com to see how popular some of ‘my’ names are, country wide. Some of the results were shocking! [name]One[/name] of my favourites that is quite popular on the SSA list compared to another favourite that is not very high at all on the SSA list showed that currently there are more than DOUBLE the number of people across the country with the ‘less popular’ name. Kind of fun to throw those statistics into the mix with the SSA stats to get a clearer picture of how many people besides just babies have any given name. Try some of your favourites and I’d love to hear about any surprises you find!
I’m shocked that my neice is the only person with her name. Her first name is [name]Cori[/name] which isn’t that common but our last name is pretty uncommon. Yet I didn’t expect her to be the only one.

I’m guessing my nature names with bf’s very common Spanish name are what’s keeping the numbers so low. I also assume that most or all of the [name]Ashley[/name]'s are girls. Yay for my “hippie” names!
I tried looking up a bunch of names and it would tell me there was only 1 in the US but SS site and behindthename would say there were lots more. Maybe I’m entering in the names wrong?
Hm, did you enter a last name with it? [name]Just[/name] throw any last name in there because it will you give you stats just for the first name, just for the last name, and then for the whole name together. I hope that helps…?
