I voted [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], first of all because it emphasizes the pronunciation you want which is very important in my opinion, and I also think it looks prettier.

I know a [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], and she’s never really had spelling issues.

[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] gmv -it just looks so much sleeker and non fussy to me

I love both, but personally tend toward the more traditional spellings of names so I voted [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. You really can’t go wrong though.

I usually lean towards traditional also but I’m not actually sure [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is the original spelling, according to btn [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is.

I voted for [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], as that’s the spelling that I’ve seen more of in the U.S., and it makes the pronunciation clearer. I also like that, as you mentioned, it doesn’t have as much of a link with the tragic character. I think syllables matter more than number of letters in terms of length, so I don’t know if it makes much of a difference one way or the
other.

Both are gorgeous! I do love the simplicity of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. It is the most familiar spelling, so I don’t think misspellings will be an issue.

I think [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] will definitely be the go-to spelling for most people because of [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]. However, since [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is also such a common spelling I don’t think it would be that big of a deal for her to just say “no, it is spelled…”. If you don’t want her to have to do this then pick [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (my personal preference) but it seems like are both leaning toward [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] for many reasons and I think she will understand later on that you chose the spelling you loved for her and hopefully she will feel a sense of pride in it because of your love for it, spelling mistakes or not.

My nickname is Madi and it gets misspelled ALL the time. It can be kind of annoying, especially when people you know well misspell it, but like I said about [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], my parents chose this spelling and love it, so I love it too.

[name_m]Long[/name_m]-winded, but hopefully this is helpful.

I prefer [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] reference, and I think the spelling looks prettier.

I voted for [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], mainly because it goes better with [name_m]Liam[/name_m] imo. But I definitely understand your reasons for favoring [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].

I don’t think that either spelling will really cause any issues. For me [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] has more of a [name_m]French[/name_m] flair & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is more [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] (& also one of my favorite characters from the TV show Lost). Either way it’s a great name!

I don’t pronounce them the same: [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is jool-YET to me, while [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is JOO-lee-ət. If you are going for the former pronunciation or something close to it, I would go with that spelling. The distance from the tragic character is a bonus, and I also prefer its bouncier, more childlike feel to the dark elegance of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f].

Hey, if you use [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], you could call her [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] sometimes.
Let me explain:
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] Low was the founder of Girl Scouts, and she was wonderful.
Some fun facts:

  • She was born on Halloween
  • Her nickname was [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], hence why the youngest Girl Scouts are called Daisies
  • She was born in [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], which is why [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] Smiles is the name of one of the cookies.
  • She was super progressive and wanted women to do more than what society had pushed them into (a better role model for girls than [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] from [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], in my opinion.)
  • At her wedding, when they threw rice, she got a grain stuck in her ear and went deaf in that ear.
  • As a little girl, she was described as adventurous and compassionate.
  • She included girls of all skin colors, ethnicities, and abilities in her program.
  • She pushed the idea of things being ‘girl led.’

Wow, I didn’t mean to write that much. Obviously both spellings are great, I just have better associations with [name_f]Juliette[/name_f].

I think both are pretty, but I prefer [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] because it’s uber-feminine and looks better with [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] & [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_m]Liam[/name_m] & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (looks like [name_u]Julie[/name_u] with a -t on the end)
