How to get CeCe without Cecilia

My husband really likes the nn [name]Cece[/name] but really dislikes the name [name]Cecilia[/name]. Are there any other first names you can think of to get close to the nn [name]Cece[/name]?

I have a little neice named [name]Francine[/name] and we call her “Cici” pronounced “[name]Cece[/name]”. I think it fits very well! Really any of the “C” names or “cine” endings could fit. It could also be a nn for [name]Lucine[/name], [name]Celine[/name], or [name]Cecily[/name]. Thats about all I can think of right now.

I have the same exact problem!

Cerelia
Capucine
Sienna
Sierra

are the only ones I can think of.

[name]Celeste[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Celena[/name], [name]Cerise[/name], [name]Cicely[/name], [name]Clarice[/name], [name]Francine[/name], [name]Eurydice[/name]. Basically any name that includes a ‘see’ or even just a ‘seh’ sound.

Failing those, any C first name and a C middle name could give you [name]Cece[/name]. Charlotte Claire etc etc.

I think that any name with a “see” sound in it could work ([name]Lucy[/name], [name]Lucia[/name]/[name]Lucille[/name], [name]Sierra[/name], maybe even [name]Selena[/name]/[name]Serena[/name]). Also, anything with the initials CC ([name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Camille[/name], [name]Coralie[/name] [name]Claire[/name], [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Cecily[/name], etc.). Or even just [name]Cecily[/name] itself.

Good luck!

I had a friend named [name]Celia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] once. She went by C.C.

[name]Chastity[/name] [name]Claire[/name] XD lol
Have you ever seen the TV show “The [name]Nanny[/name]”?

eta- sorry this is repeated stuff, i didn’t refresh the page after having it open for some time!

We have a pup named Sierra who is almost always SeeSee. You could get that with almost any Se- name. Sierra, Sienna, Serena, Selena,… I’m sure many others will have a lot of suggestions, too

Hope the dog mention wasn’t a detraction, i know people hate saying a baby name and hearing in response, “Oh, ____! I once had a dog named ___!” I definitely didn’t mean it like that

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. There are several that I like very much and would never have thought of.

[name]Sierra[/name]
[name]Francine[/name]
[name]Cerelia[/name] (I love this one!)
[name]Lucine[/name]
[name]Celina[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Clair[/name] (very clever concept)

Thank you so much! I’ll run some of these past my husband tonight. We are just starting our name search and making our list. I look forward to your help!

I once ran onto a [name]Nancy[/name] who went by [name]Cece[/name], so that’s another idea if you don’t mind using an “older” name.

I was talking to a friend about a [name]CeCe[/name] today and they said ‘what’s that short for, [name]Circe[/name]?’ and I thought that was genius as [name]Circe[/name] is one of my favourites!

It’s less intuitive, maybe, but Elisabeth of Bavaria, [name]Empress[/name] of [name]Austria[/name], was called “[name]Sisi[/name]” (sometimes spelled “Sissi”). So there’s also [name]Elisabeth[/name], [name]Lisbeth[/name], etc.

I just discovered a unique name today that I thought would fit well here, [name]Capucine[/name]. [name]Cece[/name] would be a perfect nn and it’s beautifully french!
