I love the nickname [name_u]Mel[/name_u], but I don’t particularly love any of the names associated with it, ([name_f]Melanie[/name_f], [name_f]Melody[/name_f]). I do like [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], but is that too 90’s? Also, I have a friend named [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], would it be weird to add that name to my list? Also not a fan of the “issa” sound.
I love [name_u]Mel[/name_u] because it sounds so fresh, fruity, fun, uplifting and playful. I can’t say the name without smiling. I picture [name_u]Mel[/name_u] as a happy, nature oriented girl. She loves to play in the woods, and go swimming. She likes all animals, especially fish, and wants to become a marine biologist when she’s older.
Can you think of any other names that have the same feeling as [name_u]Mel[/name_u]? What full names could go with the nickname [name_u]Mel[/name_u]? No, I’m not interested in just going with “[name_u]Mel[/name_u]” as a full name. I believe people should have a strong first name with a fun nickname.
Awwh that was such a sweet description
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]/ [name_f]Maybelle[/name_f] could do it. Any M name with middle [name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliane[/name_f] or whatever isn’t too much of a stretch either.
At one point I loved the nn [name_f]Mellie[/name_f], some names I considered for full names to get [name_f]Mellie[/name_f] were
[name_f]Melora[/name_f] - my favorite
[name_f]Melusine[/name_f]
[name_f]Pamela[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (if you can get [name_f]Milly[/name_f], why not [name_u]Mel[/name_u]?)
[name_f]Melvina[/name_f]
[name_f]Camellia[/name_f]
[name_f]Do[/name_f] any of these hit the mark?
@[name_f]Janna[/name_f] - thanks for that idea! I do like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a middle name, I might like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. I need to think it over.
@sarahmezz - I’ve liked the name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (ah-me-leah) for a while now. Maybe it could work for [name_u]Mel[/name_u]! I also like [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but don’t think I could make that big of a stretch to the name [name_u]Mel[/name_u]. [name_f]Melora[/name_f] is interesting!
@averelladavina - [name_f]Melora[/name_f] is interesting! I’ve never heard it before. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_f]Melusine[/name_f]? [name_f]Pamela[/name_f] sounds too old too me, and I automatically think of the nn [name_f]Pam[/name_f]. I do like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
@kadybug899 - interesting names, but too out there for me! Thanks for your help though.
@freddiethepink - [name_f]Melina[/name_f] is nice and so is [name_f]Maliah[/name_f]!
