I’ve liked the name [name_f]Nell[/name_f] since I read a book (Our [name_m]Chance[/name_m] by [name_f]Natasha[/name_f] [name_m]Preston[/name_m]- Great book, btw) but I’m not sure if it’s enough on its own. I don’t like the names [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f], or [name_f]Danielle[/name_f] (my name.) Any ideas?
Maybe [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]?
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f]) was a top of mine forever, until a Kardashian used it.
I immediately thought of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] too. You can also find great full names (5 whole pages of them!) for [name_f]Nell[/name_f] by searching using nameberry’s advanced search feature for names containing “nel”.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f], definitely [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is a sweet nn.
Was going to suggest [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], but everyone else did an amazing job of doing that:
Trying not to duplicate here (these might be too out there for you):
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nanelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cornelya[/name_f]
[name_f]Giannella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lionelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Petronelle[/name_f]
Any name starting with [name_f]El[/name_f] might be able to pull it off. [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elissa[/name_f], [name_f]Elianna[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], etc. I definutely agree with the people who said [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], it is adorable and [name_f]Nell[/name_f] is unexpected as a nickname. Maybe [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], Brynelle, [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], Donella, [name_f]Gianella[/name_f], [name_f]Jenelle[/name_f], Nellwyn, [name_f]Petronella[/name_f], or Raynelle?
The first ones I thought of have already been suggested - [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]. I love the suggestion of [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Lenore[/name_f], [name_f]Leonor/name_f, [name_f]Leonora[/name_f].
I also just love [name_f]Nell[/name_f] on its own as the full name.
The only one I can come up with that hasn’t been mentioned is Antonelle/[name_f]Antonella[/name_f]/[name_f]Nella[/name_f]. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are my favourite ways to get to [name_f]Nell[/name_f] though. I also like it as a full name, spelled [name_f]Nelle[/name_f] like ([name_f]Nelle[/name_f]) [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
[name_f]Nell[/name_f] is a lovely name. I like it for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and the [name_f]Helen[/name_f] names ([name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Elin[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] etc), but there are lots of other ways to get there too. I agree with @kellantryst that it could work with most [name_f]El[/name_f]- names.
Depending on your style and heritage, some other options might be [name_f]Fenella[/name_f], [name_f]Chanel[/name_f], [name_f]Nigella[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Novella[/name_f]/ [name_u]Nouvel[/name_u], [name_f]Noelani[/name_f], [name_f]Emanuelle[/name_f], [name_u]Connelly[/name_u]/Donelly.
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], Aniela, & [name_f]Janelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] & [name_f]Helena[/name_f] are forms of the names you stated you didn’t like just thought I’d throw them out there.
I feel like [name_f]Nell[/name_f] could stand on it’s on ([name_m]RIP[/name_m] to the late great [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_u]Carter[/name_u])
But if I had to suggest full names:
[name_f]Antonella[/name_f]
[name_f]Janelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]- Stretch I know
