I saw this and thought it was so sweet, kinda tough and countrified but also adorable. What could [name]Ree[/name] be a nickname for?
I had never heard of the name before but I was watching House Hunters Internationals and there was a Danish woman named Rie on. I looked it up and it appears to be a Danish variation of [name]Ria[/name] which is a nickname for [name]Maria[/name] or [name]Victoria[/name]. So following that logic it would be a nickname for [name]Marie[/name] or something along those lines. Not sure if any of this helps but I thought I’d share.
Yep anything ending in or containing ‘ria’ would work like…
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Maria[/name]
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Adria[/name]
[name]Rihanna[/name]
[name]Catriona[/name]
[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Oriana[/name]
Reminds me of [name]Reba[/name], which was a diminutive of [name]Rebecca[/name], and [name]Ree[/name] does seem to work for [name]Rebecca[/name]/[name]Rebekah[/name] (which also has a tough/pretty country feel to me) and is more distinctive than [name]Becky[/name].
[name]Marie[/name] NN [name]Ree[/name] is a cute idea too.
[name]Rhiannon[/name] would get the sound but I’d probably spell it Rhi.
[name]Rowena[/name] or [name]Rosemary[/name] could work? I’ve been stuck on [name]Romy[/name]/[name]Rory[/name] for [name]Rosemary[/name] but [name]Ree[/name] makes as much sense.
I like [name]Riona[/name] but it’s pretty offbeat.
My fave is [name]Rita[/name].
[name]Rivka[/name]
[name]Reverie[/name]
[name]Regina[/name]?
I like [name]Rita[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name], and [name]Reverie[/name]. Never considered any of those.
I always had this fantasy of [name]Dree[/name] or [name]Ree[/name] as a nn for Galadriel b/c I’m such a LOTR fan but I’d never actually use it.
[name]Rita[/name] has her own song, and [name]Rita[/name] Hayworth.
[name]Regan[/name] (pronounced [name]REE[/name]-gan) could easily go by [name]Ree[/name] as a nickname.
I have a huge crush on [name]Dree[/name], [name]Bree[/name] and [name]Ree[/name]!
[name]Ree[/name] could be a nn for:
[name]Adrienne[/name]
[name]Doreen[/name]
[name]Maureen[/name]
[name]Laureen[/name]
[name]Noreen[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Henrietta[/name]
[name]Marjorie[/name]
[name]Mallory[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name]
[name]Theresa[/name]/[name]Teresa[/name]
I know a [name]Marie[/name] with the nn [name]Ree[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it!! I also like a lot of the other suggestions that have been mentioned - some great ideas!
Ooh I love [name]Harriet[/name] and [name]Theresa[/name]!
I like [name]Carina[/name]. But my fave would be simply Rhee or [name]Ree[/name].
PS my dear friend [name]Rita[/name] is expecting and plans to name her daughter simply [name]Ree[/name].
one that has not been mentioned is: [name]Desiree[/name] ([name]Des[/name]-eh-ray) It does not have the same sound as [name]Ree[/name], but it could work!
[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Ria[/name]
[name]Reva[/name]
[name]Rhiannon[/name]
My cousin [name]Cherie[/name] is sometimes called [name]Ree[/name].
[name]Glad[/name] I checked back on this thread. [name]Theresa[/name] is one of my top choices and I never thought of the idea of [name]Ree[/name] as a playful pet name. With my daughter [name]Katharine[/name] we have a bunch of pet names in use simultaneously so I can totally imagine a [name]Theresa[/name] who is [name]Tess[/name], [name]Tessa[/name], Reeces, and [name]Ree[/name]. Cool.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f], because it go from Clairee to [name_f]Ree[/name_f].
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m not sure how long ago you posted this and haven’t read the entire thread but my cousin/best friends name is [name_f]Sheree[/name_f] (it’s [name_m]French[/name_m] and has the little thing over it haha) and we have always called her [name_f]Ree[/name_f]! I love her name, it’s so pretty!
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Renea[/name_f] (ren-ay-ah)
