How to honor Lawrence Eugene?

I just found out my mom’s grandfather’s name was [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]. This man and his wife raised my mother and was a huge influence in her life. I like the idea of using part of his name and I like the uniqueness of both names, but I am afraid my husband won’t go for either these names as they are very old man without any foreseeable rise in popularity.

What do you think I should do? Totally forget trying to use part of this family name, try to convince my hubby to use one of the names as a middle, use a variation as a first (ideas?), or try get hubby to like one if the names as a a first (any nickname suggestions)?

Our [name_m]Son[/name_m]'s name: [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] ([name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a family name on husband’s side)

Not sold on any boy names we like for our new bundle of joy who is supposed to arrive in [name_u]January[/name_u]. Suggestions are welcome! Thanks

[name_f]Imo[/name_f], [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] makes a great middle name as we just used it for our son [name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]! I also saw someone else on june babyberries who used it, and also last month there was an [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] born!
[name_m]Enzo[/name_m] is also a cool variation of [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u].

I would use [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] in the middle, or perhaps [name_m]Lawson[/name_m] as a first or [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]'s surname as the first or middle name.

[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] is a name in the top 500 last year, though I’ve met more boys with it as a middle. I agree if you wanyt to use one of the names, it shouldn’t be [name_m]Eugene[/name_m].

[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], nn [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], is great!

I think [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] is an awesome mn and could coordinate very well with your older son’s name- more unique/ln/Irish fn with a traditional, family mn.

[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Edison[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Gareth[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Quint[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_m]Turner[/name_m] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]

I agree that [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] in very handsome and current. There is a lot that can be done with the name.

I also don’t want to neglect [name_m]Eugene[/name_m].
[name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] is a cute girls’ name for the future. or [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f].
Maybe you could use [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] as it sounds similar to the first syllable.

I think that using either name as an honor name is a great idea and you have tons of options!

Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

[name_m]Law[/name_m] or [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] {the Irish form of [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]} are nice, more modern choices. I love [name_m]Lawry[/name_m], but that is a bit too nickname-y. [name_m]Lawson[/name_m] is an excellent suggestion : )

While [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] is very dated, I’ve always like [name_u]Gene[/name_u] and think of it as vintage cool. I’m throwing out [name_u]Gene[/name_u] [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] or [name_u]Gene[/name_u] [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m].
