How to honor these two names....

[name_m]How[/name_m] would you honor the name [name_u]Jerry[/name_u]?

What about the name [name_m]Milton[/name_m]?

Which gender? I know they’re boys names, but some people honour with their daughters names also, hmm…
[name_u]Jerry[/name_u]=
[name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jett[/name_m]
Jarrah

[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]

[name_m]Milton[/name_m]=
[name_m]Miller[/name_m] 0r [name_f]Mila[/name_f]?

The only name I can think of is [name_m]Jared[/name_m].

Also, its worth mentioning that Jarrah (one of pp’s suggestions) was the surname (Ziad Jarrah) of one of the hijacker pilots of United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed near Shanksville on 9/11. I don’t know where you live, but if you’re from the US, that might be something to consider if you like the name.

[name_u]Jerry[/name_u]- [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]
[name_m]Milton[/name_m]- [name_m]Milo[/name_m]

I’d just use the initials.

Well, the first name will definitely be [name_m]Declan[/name_m] (nod to Irish heritage) and we had settled on [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] as a middle. But, then I realized all of my girl names honor family and none of my boy names do. I actually love the [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] suggestion because another family member is [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m], so that’s perfect!

It would be [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] V!k0ry.

Thoughts on that?

Hmm on second thought (and some discussion), we would prefer [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m]…thoughts on this?

[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] is great. [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] feels sort of choppy to me.

Agreed, but [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] is more sentimental for us  [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] is more close to [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] than it is [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] to me…

[name_u]Jerry[/name_u] is used as a nickname for [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] and [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] so I think either would easily honour. [name_m]Jer[/name_m]emiah is sort of honouring both [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] and [name_m]Milton[/name_m] as you’ve got the start of both names in there.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m]? It’s not quite as choppy as [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] but still honours [name_m]Milton[/name_m] just the same. The only other name I can get from [name_m]Milton[/name_m] is [name_u]Tony[/name_u], but [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_u]Tony[/name_u] is just as choppy and [name_u]Tony[/name_u]'s more commonly known as a nickname for [name_m]Anthony[/name_m]/[name_m]Antony[/name_m] than [name_m]Milton[/name_m] really. Or you could use [name_f]Millie[/name_f]/[name_f]Milly[/name_f] for a girl to honour [name_m]Milton[/name_m] instead.

@essjay- thanks for replying! [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m] is another family member and it would just feel…weird… to honor them with my kid…had a not great experience with a person named [name_m]Miles[/name_m]…so that’s a no.

I know it’s choppy, but I just love [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m] right now!

Or let’s try this:

[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milos[/name_m] ??

You know, I kind of like [name_u]Jerry[/name_u]. My kids have watched so much [name_m]Tom[/name_m] and [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] that the more I say it, the more I like it. There was [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] in [name_u]Eagle[/name_u] Eye as well. However, I like [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] or [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m]!
