My great grandfather passed away on [name_u]March[/name_u] 24. I am 12 weeks pregnant and have a feeling its a little girl. Our top name choice is [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. I was thinking of possibly adding a second middle name to honour my grandpa. His name was [name_m]Russell[/name_m] Clause, he went by [name_m]Russ[/name_m] a lot. He was 101 when he passed and was just a great guy. He was also a strong christian man who worked hard to provide for his family. Any ideas?
Maybe
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Claudine[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Claudette[/name_f]
([name_u]Claude[/name_u] ([name_m]Claudius[/name_m]) doesn’t have a great meaning so I wouldn’t go for looking something that has a similar one)
OR
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] all have a meaning including [name_u]Red[/name_u], [name_m]Russell[/name_m] means “little red one”
Delaney Isabel Roz (Ros)
Delaney Isabel Rozlyn (Roslin)
Delaney Isabel Lausanne
Delaney Selma Isabel
Delaney Isabel Laude/Lauda(Lao-deh/Lao-dah, one who is praised)
I would use [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
It’s a bit more out there, but what about [name_f]Russet[/name_f]? It could work on either gender imo. Another option is [name_f]Maude[/name_f] (which rhymes with/is similar to [name_u]Claude[/name_u]).
I think [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Roz[/name_f] ([name_f]Ros[/name_f]) sounds/looks lovely! As does [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
Also, [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_m]Russ[/name_m]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] could work, as well.
I think you could use either name just as it is. without having to opt for a feminine form. maybe its just me but i thin [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Claude[/name_u] sounds just fine! [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_m]Russel[/name_m] is a little wordier because both middle names end in el. but i think its cool to have one more masculine middle name and one feminine one. or even just a feminine fist name and a more masculine middle name. Maybe im crazy. also I love how you chose to spell [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] (my personal favorite spelling) and its super nice of you to want to honor a family member.
First of all, I love [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. There are some really great suggestions here from previous posters- not sure anything I can contribute is better but I’ll try! I especially like [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f] as it sounds really nice and is a really fun nod to [name_u]Claude[/name_u]. For these suggestions, I played off the meaning of [name_m]Russell[/name_m] (red):
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (bonus here is you have the “R” AND the meaning of [name_m]Russell[/name_m])
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Auburn[/name_u]
Apparently [name_u]Claude[/name_u] is somehow related to the name [name_f]Gladys[/name_f], so you could do [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Gladys[/name_f] but that’s not personally my favorite option. Good luck!! Congratulations on your little girl!
