I and the DH have settled on using two family names as mentioned in the title. Not looking for variations! What seems to be the problem is that we have yet to find the perfect name to accompany the two. We like classic names, but as the names already chosen are a tad more “common” than we’d prefer, we’re looking for something that will make the little girl stand out from a crowd of little Emmas and yet flatter the other names. Our surname begins with an E.
Looking for a first name for Emma Amanda!
[name]Lucia[/name], mom to [name]Lily[/name] [name]Margot[/name] [name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Do[/name] you have any other family names you could use? I like these combos:
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Carys[/name] [name]Amanda[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Amanda[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Amanda[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Amanda[/name] [name]Colette[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Kirsten[/name] [name]Amanda[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Amanda[/name] [name]Mairead[/name]
Mairead like Margot is an alternative to Margaret, not sure if this would be off putting for you but I like it!
I don’t know which one you want for a fn or if you are using these as middle names but here are some combos. I think you need the third name to begin with a consonant since these begin with vowels.
Charlize Amanda Emma or Emma Charlize Amanda
Carys Amanda Emma or Emma Carys Amanda
Daphne Amanda Emma or Emma Daphne Amanda
Genevieve Amanda Emma or Emma Genevieve Amanda
Juliet Amanda Emma or Emma Juliet Amanda
Marielle Amanda Emma or Emma Marielle Amanda
Morgan Amanda Emma or Emma Morgan Amanda
Peyton Amanda Emma or Emma Peyton Amanda (Paige or Phoebe would also work)
Renee Amanda Emma or Emma Renee Amanda
Scarlet Amanda Emma or Emma Scarlet Amanda
Sylvie Amanda Emma or Emma Sylvie Amanda (Sage/Simone/Seren/Sutton would also work)
Vivienne Amanda Emma or Emma Vivienne Amanda
Zoe Amanda Emma or Emma Zoe Amanda
It might be helpful to narrow down some names if we knew what style you are looking for. Like I don’t know if you like unisex names (Sutton, Rowan, Quinn, etc.) or vintage names (Georgia, Ruby, Josephine) or an international appeal (Francesca, Carmen, Pilar, Lucienne).
Also there a variations on Emma and Amanda that would work well but I don’t know if you would consider these.
Example
Emma-Emmeline or Gemma
Amanda-Amabel, Amalia, Amaia
Thanks for the suggestions, all! I apologize for being so vague with my likings! I like elegant, girly names, such as [name]Lily[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], etc. We’re looking to have [name]Emma[/name] as the second name so first name recs would be wonderful!
I think [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Juliette[/name] both work pretty well with [name]Emma[/name] [name]Amanda[/name].
I think with two middles you’d do well to go with something fairly short and sweet up front (will also go well with sister [name]Lily[/name]) - [name]Juliette[/name] or something similar is as long as I’d go, three quick syllables - and not ending in a vowel or at least not an -a. A lot of the flower names are nice here but I don’t know if that works for you with sister [name]Lily[/name].
