How to pronounce Annika

I pronounce it to rhyme with [name_f]Monica[/name_f]!

Lol, if [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] and [name_m]John[/name_m] sound the same to you then you probably live in a region where the “aw” and “o” aren’t pronounced differently. In other areas they are totally different vowel sounds.

I would say ahn-i-kuh, like [name_f]Monica[/name_f] without the M. I used to have a student with this name.

@redwoodfey for me [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] is Dorn while [name_m]Don[/name_m] is Dohn (long o and short o)

[name_f]Annika[/name_f] is [name_f]ANN[/name_f]-ih-kuh (I also say uh’s and ah’s the same in Australia). Though [name_f]Monica[/name_f] sounds completely different to me.

[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-nee-kuh for me.
