I’ve heard a name around recently… it’s pronounced Eye-lee. I’m kind of drawn to it. I’ve seen it spelled Ily, Ailey, and Ailie, but all of these spellings don’t seem right to me. [name]How[/name] would you spell it?
Or should I opt for [name]Isla[/name], which may not be misspelled / mispronounced as much? I just worry that people will pronounce it Iz-luh. =/
Maybe Eilee. That’s all I can think of, but everyone would think she said [name]Eileen[/name]. I don’t like [name]Isla[/name] much; it sounds too much like [name]Ella[/name].
Never heard this before - maybe a nickname for [name]Isla[/name]? I can’t really think of a way to write it that doesn’t look misspelled - maybe Islie or Eili? Probably prefer [name]Isla[/name] myself even though the sound of eye-lee is nice.
I know someone with the pronounciation eye-lee spelled Eilley. As far as [name]Isla[/name] is concerned, I acutually think that it would be mispronounced more often. In my head, I always think iz-luh, not iss-luh.
Oops I was mistaken Isley is pronounced IZE-lee. However, for Eye-lee I did find that you can spell it Ailey, Eilly, Aylee, Isli, and Aisli. [name]Hope[/name] it helps!
Oh, that name is at the top of my list! I spell it Eily. I found it on another site. According to it, it is a version of [name]Helen[/name] and means light. I use it as a short form of Eilonwy (prn eye-LAWN-wee). She is our favorite female literary character. She is the main girl in the Prydain chronicles by [name]Lloyd[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. We love the name, but felt like it was a bit much, so we are going to use Eily (probably
Definitely Eilee or Eylee or use as nn for [name]Eileen[/name]. Eilee is a pretty spelling. [name]Just[/name] saw Eily in a pp, really like this spelling.
