Having a little moment with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]…
I really like [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and I plan to use it for a character with the nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u]. However, [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] “[name_u]Kai[/name_u]” is very off-putting written out, because it doesn’t look like [name_u]Kai[/name_u] has anything to do with [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]. But “[name_u]Chi[/name_u]” just looks strange.
What do you think? Is [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] “[name_u]Kai[/name_u]” okay, or is there a better option?
I think it’s fine! The only other option I can think of would be to spell the full name as [name_m]Malakai[/name_m], which has ranked in the US top 1000 since 2002, so it’s not that “out there”.
I think it’s fine! [name_f]Sine[/name_f] [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] ends with a -kai sound, it makes sense to spell the nickname like [name_u]Kai[/name_u].
Also, it is for a character at the end of the day - so even if [name_u]Kai[/name_u] for nickname [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] didn’t make sense/work (which it does), it’d be perfectly fine for you to use it.
