How unique are these names? Greta, Liberty, Kit, Nella, etc

I came across some unique names lately (for girls between ages 6 and 18), and I’m unexpectedly loving some of them. [name]How[/name] popular are these names in your area, and what do you think of them? (My favourites have asterisks.)

[name]Justine[/name]
[name]Liberty[/name]*
[name]Sariah[/name]
[name]Maudie[/name], [name]Dodie[/name], and [name]Teddie[/name] (sisters)
[name]Hunter[/name] (yes, a girl)
[name]Dallas[/name] (also a girl)
Preethy
[name]Tia[/name]
Livija (pronounced [name]Livia[/name])
[name]Greta[/name]*
[name]Henley[/name]
[name]Leila[/name]
[name]Kimbal[/name]
[name]Sheridan[/name]
[name]Kit[/name]*
Linara
[name]Nella[/name]*
[name]Jillian[/name]
[name]Baylor[/name] (a twist on [name]Bailey[/name]?)
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]Diamond[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name]
[name]Hattie[/name]

Although these are unique, it was a pleasant surprise to see many of them among the myriad of Madisons and Kaileys.

The only names I’ve heard of off your list around here are [name]Laura[/name], [name]Baylor[/name] and [name]Nella[/name]! Some of the others such as [name]Hunter[/name], [name]Dallas[/name] (one of the Teen Mom girl’s baby daddy’s new girlfriend is named [name]Dallas[/name]), [name]Kit[/name] and [name]Henley[/name], I’ve seen being used but have never met someone with that name. My favorite would have to be either [name]Nella[/name] or [name]Hattie[/name] though. The rest aren’t really my style.

[name]Justine[/name] - I have never met a girl with this name. I don’t think it’s super popular today.
[name]Liberty[/name] - I have only heard of characters on TV and in books with this name.
[name]Sariah[/name] - Similar to [name]Sarah[/name], which is popular. I’ve never heard of [name]Sariah[/name] before.
[name]Maudie[/name], [name]Dodie[/name], and [name]Teddie[/name] - I’ve never heard any of these on girls before.
[name]Hunter[/name] - I’ve met a boy named [name]Hunter[/name], but never a girl.
[name]Dallas[/name] - Again, I’ve heard of boys named [name]Dallas[/name] but not girls.
Preethy - Never heard it before.
[name]Tia[/name] - I’ve heard of characters with this name, but never met any in real life.
Livija - Never heard of it before. The pronunciation is similar to [name]Olivia[/name], though, which is super popular.
[name]Greta[/name] - I’ve met a [name]Gretchen[/name] before, but never [name]Greta[/name].
[name]Henley[/name] - Never heard it as a name before.
[name]Leila[/name] - I’ve heard this one before. I don’t think it’s super popular, but it fits in with the prevalent [name]Lily[/name] / [name]Lila[/name] / etc. trend.
[name]Kimbal[/name] - Only heard this as a surname.
[name]Sheridan[/name] - I’ve only ever heard this on a boy.
[name]Kit[/name] - I’ve only heard this as a nickname once or twice.
Linara - Never heard it before.
[name]Nella[/name] - Never heard it before. Similar to [name]Nelly[/name], though, and I’ve met a few girls named [name]Nelly[/name] before.
[name]Jillian[/name] - I have met a handful of girls with this name. Probably not really popular nowadays though.
[name]Baylor[/name] - Never heard this offline before.
[name]Laura[/name] - Pretty popular, for girls of all ages. You can find a girl named [name]Laura[/name] in nearly every age group.
[name]Diamond[/name] - Never heard it on a girl before.
[name]Miranda[/name] - I’ve met one or two Mirandas before, but I don’t think it’s extremely popular.
[name]Johanna[/name] - I’ve only met a girl named [name]Joanna[/name], not [name]Johanna[/name].
[name]Hattie[/name] - Never met one before. It’s similar in sound to [name]Hallie[/name], [name]Holly[/name], [name]Hailey[/name], etc., though.

[name]Love[/name] these:

[name]Liberty[/name]
[name]Maudie[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Nella[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name]

My daughters name is greta, and it is actually not that uncommon here where I live. We know 2 other [name]Greta[/name]'s, and the name has been in the top 100 of my state in recent years. I really don’t think it is that popular in other states, though. We have a large scandinavian and [name]German[/name] population here, which is I think why you hear it more often in this part of the Midwest (north [name]Dakota[/name], Minnesota, wisconsin)

I love [name]Nella[/name] and [name]Johanna[/name], too!

Off your list I personally know/knew one of each [name]Justine[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Nella[/name] and [name]Hattie[/name] (who are actually sisters) [name]Diamond[/name] and [name]Miranda[/name]. I’ve known a few Jillians and Lauras. (maybe 2-3 each in my life?)
