How versatile can Lucy be?

I love the name [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but I was wondering if the -y ending made it too cutesy for an adult.
[name_m]How[/name_m] versatile do you think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] can be? Could you imagine [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] being a lawyer or a professor? Would it suit a ladylike girl? Or a tomboy?
The other names on my list are along the lines of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and so on, but I just find [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] too sweet to resist.

I think I would go with [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and use [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a nickname in the same way you might go with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and use [name_f]Libby[/name_f] or [name_f]Beth[/name_f], etc as a nickname.

If you just go with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], I suppose a your daughter could go by [name_f]Lu[/name_f] if she ever felt [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] was too cutesy.

I don’t think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] in cutesy at all. To me it’s completely versatile, I can imagine it on a child, on an adult and on an elder, on a waitress and on a lawyer.

I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is fine. It I can pull off [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is “pullable”.

I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] a lot! I think because of it I’ve grown to love names with that nickname. [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucida[/name_f] to name a few.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name]Lucy[/name]! It grows well with age and it’s a good nickname if you decide to go with a longer name.
