My immediate thoughts were [name_u]Ara[/name_u]-[name_f]Leah[/name_f]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name! I think it’s totally useable and very pretty.

I have a similar problem with the name Karsia…
“Kar-Sha”
“Kar-See-[name_m]Ah[/name_m]” (p.s it’s this one!)
“Kar-Zye-[name_m]Ah[/name_m]”

Thanks! I read Karsia as Kar-See-[name_m]Ah[/name_m] which is so pretty! It’s amazing how a name can be seen totally different to some people xx

I may be the odd one out here, but I didn’t read it as either at first. I read it as Ar-[name_u]Ali[/name_u]-[name_m]Ah[/name_m]. But seeing the 2 choices, [name_u]Ara[/name_u]-[name_f]Leah[/name_f] is closest and makes the most sense to me. So that’s another vote for your pronunciation!

My thoughts exactly

I would pronounce it “ah-RAHR-lee-uh”.

I would say it more like ara-leah, but with emphasis on the second syllable: ah-RAH-lee-uh.

I’d say it ar-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-uh, with emphasis on the second syllable.

I would definitely say Ahray leah. It is the name and pronunciation of a widely known houseplant, so I think it would be quite difficult to get away from that pronunciation.

And I think it is a lovely name!

It looks to me like an alt spelling of [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], so I’d pronounce it the same as I pronounce that name: Ar-AY-lee-ah.

Thanks for the replies! I think if I do use the name I may hyphenate to save confusion or change the spelling xx

I thought it was “ah-RAHL-yah” too.

In my opinion, Aralía or [name_u]Ara[/name_u]-[name_f]Lia[/name_f] make more sense for your pronunciation.
