[name]How[/name] would you pronounce [name]Ileana[/name]? If you saw it written somewhere. It’s a cultural name so this is the more popular spelling in case anyone asks. [name]Do[/name] you think it’s to difficult to pronounce?
I have always known it as ill-ee-ah-nuh so that’s how I would pn it.
il as in ill, e as in leek, a as in awesome, and na is in none
I would say Ill-ee-ah-na, although of course not all drawn out like that. More “yah-na” at the end.
Hard for me to say if it’s difficult to pronounce because I don’t know if I am doing it right! But I get what you are asking. I wouldn’t stumble over pronouncing it, or hesitate before trying, even if I were wrong.
I would say Ill-ee-nah ( like the word lean) or Ill-ee-ah-nah.

It’s Romanian pronouciation is believed to be Ill-AY-Nah. According to the net.
Me, too. I knew an [name]Iliana[/name]/[name]Ileana[/name] (not sure how she spelled it), and that’s how she pronounced it.
I would say ill-ee-[name]AH[/name]-nah.
Okay so everyone pronounces it the Greek way versus the Romanian way.
Well, that makes sense. My mom’s friend [name]Irena[/name], is Dutch. Its not pronounced Eye-ree-nah, (like [name]Irene[/name]) its pronounced Eh- ray-nah.

That’s interesting. Problem is I really love this name! but at the same time I don’t want them to be having to correct people all the time and I guess I could use [name]Elena[/name] but I love the Romanian spelling. And I wanted to honour Romanian [name]Princess[/name] [name]Ileana[/name].
I’d have guessed ee-lay-[name]AH[/name]-nah.
You could spell it [name]Ilena[/name], or Ilayna. My name i [name]Lena[/name], pronounced [name]Lay[/name]-na, but I get [name]Lee[/name]-nah or Leh-nuh, a lot. So spelling it phoenetically may help. But frankly, if you like it then go for it. She will get used to correcting people.
[name]Just[/name] seeing it written I would pronouce it ill-ee-ah-nuh.
Il-lee-awh-name Ilyawna, it’s pretty
I’d probably stare at it for a minute and then say Ill-ee-ahna or Eh-lea-ah-na.
I would say il-ee-ah-nuh.
I didn’t really know at first, but then I thought Ill-ee-ah-nuh
Ill-e-awn-uh. Like [name]Lilliana[/name] without the first L.
Ill-ee-anna
or
Ill-ee-arna
Very cute and original name!
eye-lee-ahn-uh
I have not looked at any of the other posts b/c i did not want to skew what I thought of straight away when I read your question…have never seen this name before and, as far as I know, I have not heard it either! : )
