How would you pronounce Rannoch?

Hey trying to determine if this is too hard. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce Rannoch and where are you from?

[name_m]Ran[/name_m]-ick? From the Midwestern US.

“[name_m]RAN[/name_m]-knock” would be my guess.

Rah-nock but it’s a pretty shit name imo lol

I’m from the US and I’d pronounce it [name_m]Ran[/name_m]-ick initially.

I would say [name_m]RAN[/name_m]-ock or maybe [name_m]RAN[/name_m]-uhk, if I’m feeling lazier. I’m from [name_f]England[/name_f].

I’m from the Mid-Atlantic and would say [name_m]Ron[/name_m]-ick

I would pronounce it Rann-ock. with the och like I say [name_m]Loch[/name_m]. I’m Scottish so the ch sound comes out a bit guttural in words like [name_m]Loch[/name_m], [name_m]Enoch[/name_m] etc.

[name_m]Ran[/name_m] ick. I think it’s a handsome name

[name_m]Ran[/name_m]-ock. From [name_u]Texas[/name_u]. Cool name! However it’s supposed to be said, it’s simple enough that it could be easily corrected.

[name_m]Ran[/name_m]-ock, but I think like ella-bea I would also say it with a more gutteral end sound, like [name_m]Loch[/name_m] - so close to [name_m]Ran[/name_m]-och.

I’d say it exactly as @maerad described it.

I’m from [name_f]Canada[/name_f].

My guess would be [name_m]RAN[/name_m]-a
From [name_f]Canada[/name_f]

Like loch. I’m from the US, but lived in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f].

It’s actually on my middle name list!

[name_m]Ran[/name_m]-nosh or [name_m]Ran[/name_m]-nock, depends on what I’ve been talking about/saying before I see the name. I usually test the pronounciation in my head before I say it so whichever appeals to me at the time. I’m from Australia

Thanks everyone!! Super helpful actually! You’d be surprised how many people struggle with my daughters first name

[name_m]Ran[/name_m]-ock I guess, i’m from the NE united states. It sounds very…intergalactic…maybe that’s what you’re going for?

[name_m]RAN[/name_m]-ock is how I’d pronounce it and I’m from the US.

It depends on who I’m talking to. Were it an American I’d assume they pronounce it [name_m]RAN[/name_m]-ock but anyone else I’d assume it was [name_m]RAN[/name_m]-och (like loch).

So… what’s it supposed to be?
I knew someone with the name Darroch it was pronounced [name_f]DAIR[/name_f]-a
