[name_m]Hi[/name_m] y’all,
[name_m]How[/name_m] Would you pronounce the name ‘[name_f]Vira[/name_f]’.
- cheers:)
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] y’all,
[name_m]How[/name_m] Would you pronounce the name ‘[name_f]Vira[/name_f]’.
Like [name_f]Vera[/name_f], so veer-ah.
Like [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-uh
Like [name_u]Ira[/name_u] with a V.
Same as [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-uh.
I initially pronounced vee rah rather than veer ah ([name_f]Vera[/name_f])
Like virus with an -a, sorry!
My first thought was Like [name_u]Ira[/name_u] with a V, then I thought Vee-rah. I think it could be either.
I’d pronounce it like [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-uh, while I know for a fact [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is pronounced differently ([name_f]VER[/name_f]-uh).
I’d pronounce it as Vee-rah.
Like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] ([name_m]Veer[/name_m]-ah).
I would guess vee-rah, but would be unsure if I was getting it right since it looks like it could also be vye-rah.
My first thought was [name_f]Elvira[/name_f], so VYE-ra, but I can see [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-a too.
Also, a little off-topic, but I always thought Vera rhymed with Sarah…
[name_m]Veer[/name_m]-uh…
I learned from this thread that I pronounce [name_f]Vera[/name_f] differently than everyone else (vair-uh, like very). I would probably say [name_m]Veer[/name_m]-uh for [name_f]Vira[/name_f], though!
I say [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as vair-uh also. I’d pronounce [name_f]Vira[/name_f] as veer-uh.
Ditto. [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-ah.
It looks like it should be pronounced like [name_u]Ira[/name_u] with a V ( and makes me think of virus and viral), but I would probably guess veer-a.
