At first glance I thought that it looked like Uh-lie-ra. Alternate spellings could be Elleara, Ellira, or maybe Eliera. It’s a gorgeous name pronounciation–I wish you the best of luck deciding.
My first thought was also eh-LYE-ruh but I’ve seen [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] pronounced both [name_m]LY[/name_m]-ruh and LEER-uh so I think it would be a toss up how people say it. Elyra definitely works for how you want it said.
My first thought would be Eh-ly-ruh but I wouldn’t be surprised by Eh-leer-uh either. Eleera, Ellira, [name_f]Elira[/name_f] would work - I like [name_f]Elira[/name_f] but Elyra works too
I think for the pronunciation you want, [name_f]Elira[/name_f] would be a better spelling, Elyra definitely works but I read it as eh-[name_m]LY[/name_m]-ra
My first thought was eh-LIE-ruh, but then I thought it would possibly be eh-LEER-uh. I say go for it personally. My sister’s name is spelled differently, with an Y giving the ‘eer’ sound ([name_f]Kyrah[/name_f] but pronounced like [name_f]Keira[/name_f]). People usually say it wrong but it only takes one correction.
[name_f]Elira[/name_f] also gets the pronunciation you want, although a little clearer.
My first thought was [name_f]El[/name_f]-eye-ruh similar to [name_f]Elvira[/name_f] but I wouldn’t be surprised by the Eh-leer-a pronounciation. I would probably spell it Eleera but Elyra does work. Very pretty sound.
I personally heard it in my head as ‘[name_f]El[/name_f]-leer-ra’ but I’m in the south and I know people here would say ‘el-EYE-ra’ allll dayyyy looonnnng.
My first guess was Eh-lie-ruh, then I thought, but maybe Eh-leer-uh? I think [name_f]Elira[/name_f] might be more straightforward to get the sound you want. I wouldn’t assume [name_f]Elira[/name_f] to have the LIE sound.
