[name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce the name [name_f]Ximena[/name_f]? In my head I like it but I don’t know if I am pronouncing it right, so I wanted to see what you guys think!

On my first try I would pronounce it Zi-mina.
The Spanish pronunciation is hard to explain in English because the sounds aren’t exactly the same, but I would pronounce it something like hee-[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-na. The X is pronounced the same as the J in [name_m]Jorge[/name_m] or [name_m]Javier[/name_m].

I wasn’t aware there were ways to pronounce it other than “hee-MEH-nah/hee-[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-nah,” but then I grew up in a heavily latinx area! I’ve also seen it spelled “[name_f]Jimena[/name_f],” so I definitely wouldn’t pronounce it with a Z.
