How would you pronounce?

How would you pronounce [name_m]Giona[/name_m]?

Thanks !

I would pronounce it similarly to [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], but with a very quick lilt on the first syllable.

Like saying the alphabet letter names with a [name_m]Nuh[/name_m] on the end. G-O-nuh

([name_f]Edit[/name_f]) if that was confusing :joy: [name_m]Gee[/name_m]-oh-nuh

I’d say it the same way as @almostactually above: almost [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] but a quick lilt on the G and the I.

I agree with @Amber_Joy

I’d say it like @Amber_Joy. Three syllables jee-OH-nuh. If it wasn’t that, I’d probably say it the same way as [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] (jee-AH-nuh).

After never encountering this name before, I would say gee-oh-nuh.

Jee-oh-na

Jee oh nuh

jon-uh or joe-nuh.

If it’s Italian, JON-ah with a short O sound.

My first instinct was jee-oh-na. But now I’m thinking it might be more like [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m]… So maybe like [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]?

Jor-nah or [name_m]Gee[/name_m]-oh-nuh

Like “[name_m]John[/name_m]-uh” or “[name_f]Gianna[/name_f]”… can you tell I don’t speak Hebrew?

Jee-own-ah

Like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] but with a “Jee” at the front.

Jee-oh-nah

[name_m]Gee[/name_m]-oh-na

(“[name_m]Gee[/name_m]” pronounced the same as the letter G)

Gee-oh-nah

Jee-o-nuh

I’d probably say “[name_m]John[/name_m]- ah”. Only because I went to school with a guy called [name_m]Giacomo[/name_m] and he pronounced it “jaw- co- mo… I’m probably totally wrong haha
