How would you spell this name and what do you think of it? It’s a Bulgarian girls name that means rowan tree. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is Bulgarian and the tradition is to use the first letter of the grandparent’s name for your child so we’re trying to think of “K” or hard “C” names to honor his father.
Since it’s a Cyrillic name, we can spell it lots of ways potentially in [name_f]English[/name_f] - which one would you use? I’d like to use the nickname “[name_f]Callie[/name_f]”/“[name_f]Kallie[/name_f]” depending on how we spell it.
- Kalina
- Kalena
- Kallina
- Calina
- Callina
- Some other way?

I know a [name_f]Kalina[/name_f], so I’d spell it that way
The one I know spells it [name_f]Kaleena[/name_f], but I personally prefer the [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] spelling.
I knew a girl named [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] “[name_f]Kali[/name_f]” in middle school.
I prefer the look of [name_f]Kalina[/name_f]
I agree with above posters, [name_f]Kalina[/name_f] makes the most sense to me

Another vote for [name_f]Kalina[/name_f]–very pretty!
I like [name_f]Kalena[/name_f]!
Usually I’m a fan of ‘c’ over ‘k’ but this time I would choose [name_f]Kalina[/name_f], I think it’s the most intuitive for pronunciation. [name_f]Calina[/name_f] could be pronounced suh-lee-nuh. And with the familiarity of [name_f]Karina[/name_f]/Katrina I feel like most people would easily take to [name_f]Kalina[/name_f]
