I like the name [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], and in my head I read it as “Mad-ah-lyn”, which is the pronunciation I prefer (as opposed to Mad-ah-line, like the [name_m]French[/name_m] girl who lives in a house covered in vines). I don’t really care for the [name_f]Madalyn[/name_f] spelling, but I am afraid that I would have to use it for correct pronunciation.
What are your thoughts, Berries?
I think the closest towards your preferred pronunciation is [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (mad-eh-lehn).
In the US, [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] will more often than not get you where you want. [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] is actually the most popular spelling so maybe that appeals more than [name_f]Madalyn[/name_f]?
I’d spell it [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] for that pronunciation. That said, I think many (non-namenerd) English speakers might automatically say it as you like upon seeing [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] anyway, due to the popularity of [name_f]Madalyn[/name_f].

I would spell it [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] for your pronunciation. Mostly ‘leine’ is not pronounced as ‘len’ but more like ‘luhn’. So [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] have the same pronunciation, but [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is a lot more traditional and attractive.
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Madalyn[/name_f].
But some people do pronounce [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] that way so I dont think it would be weird if you did.

I say [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] with the -lyn ending, but if it concerns you I agree with pp to spell it [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
Thanks for all the insight, everyone! I didn’t find the spelling of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] as intuative, but the more I see it in this thread the more I’m drawn to it.
My sister is called [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], pronounced “mad-uh-lin”.

This is how I pronounce them (I’m from the UK).
My mom’s name is [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and that’s how she pronounces it. She has been called ‘mad-a-line.’ But probably not as often as if it was spelled [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I love that people are interested in this name lately

[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], for sure. And I think this is the prettiest spelling as well. 
I agree with everyone else: [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] or [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
Technically [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] should be pronounced “mah-d’[name_m]LEN[/name_m]”, with the last syllable rhyming with [name_m]Ben[/name_m], not bin.
I have known a couple of girls with the [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] spelling and they have all been “MAD-uh-lin”. I would choose this spelling if that’s the pronunciation you’re looking for. Perhaps you should ask some people in your area what they think?
I would spell it [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] to get that pronunciation. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] always has been and always will be mad-uh-line to me. If you don’t like the [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] spelling, I would go with [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. Most non-namenerds/non-[name_m]French[/name_m] don’t know that it’s -len at the end instead of -lyn, so I’d choose that.
I have the same dilemma! [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is more appealing to me than [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Madalyn[/name_f]. I may be weird, but I just can’t see an adult with the [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Madalyn[/name_f] spelling. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] looks more “grown up” to me. lol. Honestly, I don’t think you will have a lot of issues if you choose to spell it [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I love the [name_m]French[/name_m] Spelling [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] as well, but I know it’s pronounced slightly different.
