Pronounced “lee-lah”. I’ve seen it spelled a handful of different ways, and I’m just curious which spelling would be most popular.

I grew up with a [name]Leila[/name] prn “lee lah” and a [name]Leilani[/name] prn “lay lah nee” so I think the “ei” spelling is a good choice since it can be either/or as far as I know.
[name]Lela[/name], or [name]Leela[/name].
[name]Lila[/name] is Lie-lah to me, [name]Leila[/name] is [name]Lay[/name]-la, and [name]Leyla[/name] too.

I would say [name]Lela[/name], [name]Leela[/name], or [name]Leila[/name]. To me if you want the [name]Lay[/name]-la pronunciation, [name]Layla[/name] would be the best spelling.
I would automatically spell it as [name]Lela[/name], [name]Lelah[/name], [name]Leila[/name], or [name]Leela[/name].
If you really want to avoid confusion: [name]Leela[/name] or [name]Lela[/name]

My son’s classmate has a younger sister named [name]Leela[/name], I think it’s the most straightforward spelling.

This pronunciation of lee-lah has got me confused, too. Ideally, I’d spell it [name]Lila[/name], but that’s apparently too confusing for most, so I’d go with either [name]Leela[/name] or [name]Lela[/name]. Or, if I felt a little more daring (which I don’t, really) Liila might be a viable option.

On [name]America[/name]'s Next Top Model, there is a [name]Leela[/name] who spells her name as “[name]Leila[/name].” I would pronounce that spelling as [name]Layla[/name] though.

I’d go with [name]Lila[/name]. There’d be constant confusion over it, but it does make sense and it’s pretty easily explained.
