Hi all, I decided that I want to use Leila, but I don’t know about spelling! I’ve heard Leila pronounced both LEE-la and LAY-la, and I want the LEE-la pronunciation. Which spelling do you all prefer? I would also love it if you could let me know how you feel about the name AND what type of person you picture with it.

I think the [name_f]Leela[/name_f] spelling is the only one that would cause me to pronounce it the way you want it said
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] will definitely get you some sounding like [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. And [name_f]Leela[/name_f] looks weird.
I agree with the previous poster, [name_f]Leela[/name_f] is the only one I would say “lee-lah”. I know a [name_f]Leela[/name_f] (who pronounces it like you want) and I think it’s a great name, sweet and spunky!
[name_f]Lela[/name_f] would be ‘leh-lah’, [name_f]Lila[/name_f] would be ‘lye-lah’, and [name_f]Leila[/name_f] would be ‘lay-lah’ to me.

I think [name_f]Lela[/name_f] and [name_f]Leila[/name_f] would be pronounced LAY-la, but [name_f]Leela[/name_f] is LEE-la and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] would be LYE-la. I personally like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] the best.

[name_f]Lela[/name_f] is leh-la
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] is lay-la
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] is ly-la
So for your pronunciation I would say [name_f]Leela[/name_f]!
