How would you spell this nickname?

I want to use [name_u]Andy[/name_u] for one my daughters. It’s an honor name for my uncle whom passed away. I don’t like this name for a boy. I’m not sure when I want to use it as a first or middle name. I’ll do another post asking for suggestions! But what spelling is best?

My mom is named [name_f]Sandi[/name_f] and was nicknamed [name_f]Andi[/name_f]. I also know an [name_u]Andrea[/name_u] shortened to [name_u]Andy[/name_u], so I think it depends one which name the nickname is coming from.

I like [name_u]Andy[/name_u] best. [name_f]Andie[/name_f] is cute, but I feel like more people will typically assume the spelling of “[name_u]Andy[/name_u]” unless told otherwise.

I think most people will assume it’s spelled [name_u]Andy[/name_u] although [name_f]Andie[/name_f] would work as well

[name_f]Andie[/name_f] would be my preference, as well! I think it’s sweet for [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], etc.
